Neighborhood Schools

Hackberry Creek is part of the Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District (CFBISD), an innovative leader in learning. All three of the schools in CFBISD, that directly serve Hackberry Creek, follow the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum, providing a framework of academic challenge and life skills through embracing and transcending traditional school subjects. In addition to the schools within C-FB ISD, the North Hills Preparatory offers another excellent public charter school choice for children in grades K-12. North Hills also follows the International Baccalaureate curriculum with certification for a Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme.

Las Colinas Elementary

Las Colinas Elementary was the first district school built in the city of Irving. The district’s boundaries have always extended into this geographical area but, for many years, the few children who lived there were bused into schools in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch area. Due to the tremendous growth in the Hackberry Creek and Valley Ranch areas in recent years, the need for a school in the area became critical. 

Barbara Bush Middle School

6th through 8th Grade

515 Cowboys Parkway, Irving, Texas 75063

Barbara Bush Middle School opened in August 1998 as the district’s sixth middle school in Irving’s Valley Ranch. Named in honor of former First Lady Barbara Bush, the school was the third CFB school in Irving.

Ranchview High School

9th through 12th Grade

Ranchview High School serves students in the Irving and Coppell part of the district. The school opened in August 2002 with eighth and ninth grade students. A grade was added each year until the school became a four-year comprehensive high school. Ranchview’s first graduating class was in 2005.

North Hills Preparatory

Uplift North Hills Preparatory is a free, public, college-preparatory charter school located in Irving/Las Colinas. Established in 1997 as the first school in the Uplift Education network, the largest charter school network in North Texas. Uplift North Hills is one of only 225 IB continuum schools worldwide authorized to offer all three International Baccalaureate (IB) programs of education for Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme.
